The United States Collegiate Calisthenics Organization (USCCO) is a student-founded organization dedicated to growing, standardizing, and sustaining collegiate calisthenics across North America. We create a unified community for student athletes to develop, compete, and thrive in the sport of calisthenics.

When was the USCCO founded?

The USCCO was founded in the Summer of 2024 by a group of passionate college students who saw the potential for calisthenics to unite campus communities and wanted to create a standardized platform for collegiate competition.

Who can join the USCCO?

Any current college student enrolled in an accredited university or college in North America can join the USCCO. Restrictions on competition participation can be found in the [rulebook](/rulebook.pdf).

No! We are proud to have Canadian clubs under our roster & pride in being inclusive to all collegiate clubs in North America

Does it cost money to join?

Basic membership in the USCCO is free. However, there are fees associated with competition entry, some events, and premium features.

We host regional and national competitions in the Spring semester, with some exhibition matches happening in the Fall. Our schedule is designed to work around the college academic calendar to maximize student participation.

Are there different skill level divisions?

No, due to time constaints on competitions, we do not offer different skill level divisions at this time.

What events and categories are in competitions?

Our competitions are comprised of four categories: Freestyle, Endurance (Sets & Reps), Power (Streetlifting), and Statics. Each category tests different aspects of calisthenics performance and allows athletes to showcase their unique strengths.

How are competitions judged?

We use standardized judging criteria that evaluate technique, form, and execution. Our judges are required to pass a judging course and are interviewed before being certified.

Do I need to belong to a club or team to compete?

No! Individual athletes are welcome as long as you are enrolled in a university and under 26 years of age.

Do I have to be a student to compete?

The Regionals and Nationals competition require that you be an active student (will need to provide proof) and under 26 years of age, but some events include open or exhibition divisions for non-students.

USCCO considers location, facilities, and club readiness before selecting hosts.

How do I get certified to judge?

You can get certified to judge by completing our judging course. The course is free and self-paced. Once you complete the course, you will be certified to judge. You can also contact us at info@uscco.us to get certified.

Yes, only if there are remaining 'slots' for competitors — determined by our time estimate and cutoff time requirements for the event.

How to qualify for nationals?

The top 2 winners from each event, male and female, will be granted a 'golden ticket' and an invitation to the nationals competition!

Do I need prior experience to compete?

No! While the competitions themselves may be very competitive, you can still participate and have an audience cheer you on as you break your own personal records. We also heavily encourage everyone to come to the competition day, even as a spectator, as there will be opportunities to engage through minigames and free time on the bar.

All athletes who compete will recieve an athlete shirt. USCCO also works with our sponsors to provide prizes for the winners of each event. The winners at nationals will recieve a prize which we will be releasing in the future.

What equipment do I need for calisthenics?

Calisthenics primarily uses bodyweight, so minimal equipment is needed. Basic equipment includes a pull-up bar and parallel bars. Many exercises can be done with no equipment at all!
